The Viking Blade Review

My son is about turning into a man, if you do know what I mean, and I decided to help him through this phase. I got him the Vikings Blade only because a trusted friend wouldn’t stop advising me to get one. Before now, I was a Gillette man to the core. I don’t think I have used any other brand outside Gillette for a very long time. I didn’t want my son to have the fear of cuts, so I decided to try out this product for myself first.

Long story short, I don’t think my son would ever experience or know how it feels to treat cuts from shaving. The Vikings Blade is indeed for Vikings. It is the perfect combination of power and perfection. It is firm to the grip and doesn’t seem susceptible to breakage. The blades are fine and sharp and I also don’t have to take care of my son’s blade changes. New blades basically do not cost a thing! You would only understand this if you have been a Gillette man yourself.

I would highly recommend the product to anyone looking to change a brand. The Vikings Blade is everything it promises and even comes with a lifetime warranty, just in case.

Viking Blade - Customer Review

When I purchased the Vikings Blade, I thought I was buying another Weishi because I have had my fair share of disappointments with that brand. The product is little longer than a normal twist to open razor and has a heavy weight feel. The handle is thick which makes it god for a firm grip. Unlike most other Weishi I have been unfortunate to use, this has a less aggressive razor. This means I do not have to worry about cuts or bumps after shaving.

A striking feature of the Vikings Blade for me has got to be its head. It was designed slightly larger than conventional double edge razor head. The blades fit in nicely and don’t stick out the sides. For me, this makes it extra safe to access areas that are hidden without worrying about sticking out blades making a cut. This is a product for every man that is seriously conscious of his looks.

Viking blade by Julian Vue

Usually I wouldn't do this because I just don't feel comfortable doing a review on products. No, I'm not shy or anything; especially when the option of posting anonymously is still available. Anyways so I got a birthday gift about 4 months ago from my girlfriend. Among other really awesome cool gifts (we don't need to talk about them), she got me one of this Vikings Blade safety razor by Julian Vue. I'd have to admit that I was a bit perplexed. I didn't know if it was her way of saying I usually have bad shaves or I'm just too hairy for my own self. Honestly that was the first time I was knowing the Viking blade by Julian Vue. In the past, I've tried several brands but always seemed to have one problem or the other.

So it's been 4 months now and I'm yet to get a reason to buy a new shaving stick. The first thing I noticed when I held it was how compact it is. It has a length of 3.75" and a weight of 85g. It is remarkably hefty and allows for easy use and maneuvering. I may not know much about what quality of materials is all about but I can say this product is strong and durable. The products butterfly head allows for a quick 5 second blade change. This is no joke! Changing blades is as easy and effortless as anything you can imagine. I know I can be clumsy at times but I've never cut myself with this blade. I believe this is what the microcomb system was designed to prevent. About a month ago I curious to know how expensive this product was and was totally blown away! Something this affordable actually exists and I've just been wasting money on other disappointing brands.

The viking blade safety razor review

I'm not sure how to go about this review without getting into a discussion about wet shaving in general, so I'll do my best here to keep it product specific.
I held off quite awhile before posting this review because this was my first safety razor and experience with traditional shaving. I didn't want to give it a rating until I was sure I knew what I was doing, and not blaming the razor for any lack of skill/practice on my part.

The Viking's Blade definitely does the job, however, it's not always consistent. I've tried it with several different blades, etc. and have had good results for the most part, but it doesn't seem to hold the blades perfectly straight. I have to spend a minute or two each time I'm installing a new blade to make sure to position it just right before tightening the butterfly mechanism, else I get an uneven shave or more-than-usual nicks. Even when the blade is sitting right, I have to make several passes and reapply more cream before it gets it all (I'm talking 5, 6, sometimes more). Now, before writing that, I made sure it wasn't the blades I was using or my technique. I've tried several brands of blades and I've been using a few different razors with moderate success, so I can safely say that this is an issue with the razor itself. It may have something to do with the guard/comb part of the head, and it may work better for others with different types of facial hair, but it's consistently not giving me a close shave without multiple attempts.

I will say that, having tried a few other brand razors in the meantime, this one does do a pretty good job with not cutting you. I have two other reputable brand razors that are much more prone to nicks. From what I gather, this has to do with the spacing between the blade and the guard. If that is indeed the case, then the Viking's blade has good spacing.

The razor itself is of very high-quality construction and definitely has some weight to it. It's very comfortable to hold and it's easy to clean.

All in all, I would say the Vikings Blade was a good choice to learn the ins and outs of traditional shaving, and I would definitely recommend it to other beginners - but I don't think my shave quest ends here.
